Estevao Alberto Gino was killed by a crocodile
Estevao Alberto Gino was reportedly training with his team when he and a couple of fellow players stopped to rest under a shade near the crocodile-infested Zambezi river.

Witnesses said the crocodile suddenly jumped out of the water, grabbed Estevao by the waist and dragged him back into the river.

Estevao's club, Atletico Mineiro de Tete, confirmed the attack and added that his body has tragically not been found.

The club's founder and coach, Edy Carvalho, also said that the teammates who were with Estevao could not have done anything due to the size of the crocodile and the quickness of the attack.

Crocodile attacks are common along the Zambezi river, which is also a source of water for locals.
