A Nigerian pastor, Gabriel Atansuyi, is pleading for justice after alleging that the Nigerian police are trying to cover up the death of his gospel artist son, Ifedolapo Atansuyi.

Atansuyi released a statement on his Facebook page, alleging that the police killed his son while he was in custody.

It was gathered that a woman named Tessy reported Ifedolapo to the police, accusing him of the selling her iPhone without her permission.

Tessy had reported the incident to her boyfriend. After she told her boyfriend, he took some of his friends to beat and torture Ifedolapo before he handed him over to the police at Jankara police station, Oko Awo where he died.

According to Atansuyi, the cleric said the office of public defender took over the matter, adding that he was offered a car to agree that Ifedolapo killed himself.
