Tragedy as auto crash claims the life of 3 school principals in Delta(photo)

Tragedy struck on Friday, March 24, 2017 in Delta state when three secondary school principals who were travelling to Kwale in Ndokwa West local government area for a meeting allegedly with the commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chiedu Ebie, had fatal road accident and died instantly.

The accident was said to have happened between Mosogar and Oghara in Ethiope West local government area of the state.

A facebook post made by one Sanco Ese Darlinton read: “Never again will evil triumph over good. This beautiful lady is a principal, she left her home this morning to discuss the NUT strike in Asaba and Okowa’s inability to pay striking teachers.

“On their way, they had accident and some of them including this beautiful lady paid the supreme price. Deltans are dying every day as a result of bad governance. May her soul rest in peace.”

When contacted, the Delta state chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Jonathan Jemirieyigbe, said the principals were not coming to Asaba for the NUT meeting but rather they were going for a meeting with the state commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chiedu Ebie, in Kwale.

He said: “They were not coming to our meeting please. Only the ANCOPSS Sec and the Chairman are members of SWEC.

“They were going to Kwale for a meeting called by the Education Commissioner who threatened all of them that they will lose their position if they failed to attend.

“They were never coming for NUT meeting at all. Please, verify your wrong claim for Christ sake.”

Text messages sent to the mobile phone of the commissioner were not answered.

#All these due to refusal to pay them their entitlement.
